WARIALDA VETS ENJOY ANOTHER DAY OUT
Another good roll up of 18 last Friday for our weekly 12 holes of golf and fellowship at the 19th. The recently introduced practice of using a shotgun start each week has paid off with everybody finishing pretty much at the same time which allows good social interaction over a couple of cold ones.
Best on the day and after surviving a countback was Jiver Phillips returning 27 points (handicap was 8, now a bit lower) to take home the poultry to Julie. The runner up, also on 27 points, was Wayne “Flash” Reading who showed some glimpses of his youth out on the course and he will also have a reduced handicap next week. The ball run-down was led in by Dr. Clem on 26 points followed by Dave Coulton (25), Geoff Hague (24) and then 3 players who have been attending the Tiger school of golf returning 23 points to get a shot back and also a ball, they being, Lionel Cleal, The Tiger (Cleal) himself and President Macca McDonald.
Jiver Phillips also had the flat stick working well and on two occasions didn’t need it when he chipped in to record zero putts on those two holes and then totalled 14 putts for the other ten holes
Nearest the Pins were collected by Geoff Hague (3rd), Dave Coulton (5th) and Brian “Roofy” Davis (9th).
Warialda Vets Golf: Friday (22nd January) normal 3:00 p.m. tee off time for another 12-hole Individual Stableford.
