THANK YOU from Bingara Central School News – Week 2, Term 3, Friday 23rd July

Thank You BINGARA LIONS CLUB
The Bingara Lions Club has generously donated $5000 towards the Bingara Central School
Stage 3 excursion to Lake Ainsworth. Picture below is Mr Scot Crispin, President of the
Bingara Lions Club with our very excited Stage 3 students.

Thank You BINGARA ORANGES
Dehydrated Bingara Oranges are now available for purchase at the Bingara Tourist
Information Centre and the Bingara Central School front office. The oranges are full of
flavour and perfect to use in cooking, decorating cakes, on cheese platters, in cold
refreshments, in a cup of tea or simply eat them straight out of the packet. They are a
fantastic gift idea (and are light to post). All proceeds help fund school excursions.

CLASS OF THE WEEK
YEAR 1
The students in Year 1 have been busy learning all about the number 100. As Miss Schmidt’s
class were celebrating 100 Days of Kindergarten, we decided to help teach the kindergarten
students what we knew about the big number. Year 1 students each created a mini poster
to demonstrate everything they knew about 100. In small groups, students shared their
knowledge and worked together to design a poster. We then took the posters to the
kindergarten room and presented our wonderful knowledge about 100.

PREMIERS DEBATING CHALLENGE
What a big day for the Bingara Central Diamonds. This squad of debaters competed in two
debates on Thursday and showed great determination and maturity to produce two top
quality, entertaining arguments.
First of all Indiana, Morgan, Scarlet and Harriett took on the Warialda Warriors and came
away with the win.
An hour later Indiana, Anabella, Scarlett and Harriett prepared and debated again against
the Warialda Wombats but unfortunately came away without a win, but wow, what a
debate.
The improvement shown by our Debate Club this year has been outstanding, an absolute
pleasure to watch. We are so proud of you all.
We have taken on some in – depth feedback from our adjudicators and used it to improve
every time. Well done debaters.
Kristy Johnson – Classroom Teacher

STAGE 4 SCIENCE
Stage 4 made fantastic edible cell models as part of the Cells topic in science.
Congratulations on an excellent job! Thank you to the parents who helped and supplied the
ingredients.

CHARITY AND APPEALS
Our Charity and Appeals Committee have decided to back the Jump Rope for Heart
Fundraiser. Anyone wishing to join in to raise money is more than welcome. We will be
holding a Jump Off competition later in the term and will keep you updated once a date is
set. The Heart Foundation has been running for over 36 years.
Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like yours have raised more than $104
million for the Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work. Jump Rope for Heart is a great way for
your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps raise funds for vital heart
research and education programs. To make fundraising fun and easy, you can create your
own secure webpage at jumprope.org. au. Sign up to share your child’s progress and let the
funds roll in. Your child can earn virtual badges along the way and your page will highlight
the prizes up for grabs. Sign up here today: www.jumprope.org.au/parents Thank you
for supporting the Jump Rope for Heart program!

SELF MOTIVATED
SPORTING SUCCESS
One of our GRIT focuses is – Self Motivated and what a fitting focus it is! Self motivation
is the force that drives you to do things. People can be motivated by many things, both
internal and external. However, self-motivation is important because it does not let
you depend on others and drives you to tap your strengths to meet your goals. When
you think you’re ready to quit something, or you just don’t know how to start, your self
motivation is what pushes you to go on. With self motivation, you’ll learn and grow –
regardless of the specific situation. That’s why it’s such a fundamental tool for reaching
your goals, achieving your dreams, and succeeding, in all areas of life. In view of this, we
would like to acknowledge the many students who have been setting goals, achieving
and succeeding in sport this year.
