Since returning to her hometown, Jacqueline Lyons and her husband Richy have been kicking plenty of goals.

After five years their business, J & R Steel Built, is certainly gaining a growing reputation in the construction world.

For example,

Clint Langan of Bingara ordered a hay shed and said of their work,

‘Great local people delivering a great result, the whole experience was trouble-free.’

Scott Michell of Castletop Pastoral Company also wanted a hay shed, and said,

‘I think the local shire should be proud to have a family company with this high calibre of work ethic and knowledge of what they do.’

Alex Mason of Gum Flat said,

‘They completed the job within a couple of days and their workmanship is something they should be proud of. They left the site neat and tidy which was very important.’

For those who know Jacky and Richy, these great recommendations are not unexpected. They simply reflect the young couple’s approach to life.

Jacky and Richy

Jacky is a member of the Walton family who has been around Bingara since pre Federation.

Whether it be working the land or playing sport, the common trait is to just get on with the job.

The Waltons are gun barrel straight in all dealings and have a no-fuss approach to what they do. And, these traits are easily recognised in the full comments recorded below by Clint, Alex, and Scott.

So, who are the people behind J & R Steel Built, what is their story?

Build a business with satisfaction

Jacky and Richy strive for total on satisfaction.

However, satisfaction is a whole of life thing for them.

Jacky explained:

‘We moved back to Bingara five years ago for the family life. The town has so much to offer families. It has the river and it is a friendly community, a great place to raise our kids, Keah, Sam, Beau, and Zoe.

Also, to be with mum, my brothers and Nan, was a strong reason for my move back, as I love being close to my family. Richy also loves Bingara.

We are very keen to give back in sponsorships of local sport and other organisations. Currently, we sponsor Bingara Minor League and the Gwydir River Rats however, we are very happy to talk to other associations for 2022.

Now we are back and the business is doing very well, we are keen to meet new clients. Our products are fantastic and we are delighted with the response to them.

But, we are very humble about our success and so proud of the wonderful support we receive from our customers.’

For those thinking of a new shed just phone or email, and Jacky will provide details of their large range. No job is too small or too large.

Commendations

Clint Langan

‘I highly recommend the team from J & R Steel Built.

I recently had Richy and his team construct a large, two-walled hay shed. And, it is now full with over 1000 high-quality forage barley big round bales.

The whole experience was smooth and trouble-free.

Jackie was great in the early stages of planning and Richy is an absolute professional when it comes to his organisation and craftsmanship

They are great local people, delivering a great result.’

Scott Michell

‘I can personally recommend J & R Steel as they put up a new hay shed for us here at Castletop.

It was done quickly and with no fuss to such a high standard, that we will use them again in the future.

They came highly recommended through word of mouth and Richy has a very calm and friendly manner, which was great to deal with.

Even though they had not dealt before with the brand of the shed we required, the high level of experience shone through and they made light work of it.

I think the local shire should be proud to have a family company with this high calibre of work ethic and knowledge on what they do.

They should be proud of what they do and the workmanship will be seen for decades to come.’

Alex Mason (Gum Flat)

‘Richy and Jacky Lyons from J & R Steel Built are a fine example of how a small local business provides service and value for money in our area.

Jacky kept us completely up to date with the timeline as to when Richy and the boys were going to get here to build our large shed. This was at a time when they were extremely busy and we needed a shed built ASAP!

Her communication allowed us to have everything sorted and ready to go upon their arrival.

What’s more – they arrived when they said they would!

They completed the job within a couple of days and their workmanship is something they should be proud of.

They left the site neat and tidy which was very important.

I would highly recommend J &R Steel Built to construct a shed – we are very lucky to have them in our area.’
