Rose Cup returns to Bingara.
24 players made it to Warialda on Sunday to take on the lads up there and were able to bring the Dave Rose Cup back home. Warialda presented a lovely bit of weather on the day and the course was tough but in good condition for a round of friendly but competitive golf. D Smith from Warialda had a great 38 points to win the day whilst Dave Brown had a great 36 points for Bingara.
After consulting the records it now stands with both clubs holding the trophy 4 times each since inception in 2014.
Bingara started the day with a 3.8point lead and Warialda was out to give Bingara a lesson. Warialda won the day but only by 2.8points allowing Bingara to win by just 1 point. Great result on all fronts.
Of the 24 who travelled from Bingara 12 were regular Sunday golfers and 12 were Thursday hackers. The hackers were victorious over their Sunday counterparts by 13points. This was celebrated by Magoo and Slim quite boisterously.
Saturday saw the mixed foursomes championships also being played with Merv and Judy Hall taking out the trophy with 137 shots coming in second were Robert and Judy Northcott on 142.
Next week is the Monthly Medal on 21st November and coming up after this is a Single Stableford on the 28th November. Don’t forget to book Barneys Day on your calendar.
Thursday’s chook run is a 2 pm for 2.30 pm kick-off.
